What Is the Difference Between Cutting Edge and Bleeding Edge?

Are You on the Cutting Edge or the Bleeding Edge? Bleeding edge refers to technology that is further ahead than cutting-edge or leading-edge technology. It is technology that is often considered to be so new and advanced that it is still unproven, could carry risks, and may not perform as intended.

As a leader, you need to innovate more than ever. Innovation and breakthrough are essential to staying relevant in business. Whenever people talk about innovation, it always makes me laugh when they talk about being on the "cutting edge." This is particularly true in technology.

Bleeding edge refers to the tip of a knife. The tip pierces and breaks through. The cutting edge is the part of the knife that does most of the work. Innovation is not about the cutting edge. innovation is about the bleeding edge. The bleeding edge is that boundary that has not yet been broken.

Are you on the cutting edge or the bleeding edge? Are you daring enough to explore new territory? We get you off cutting edge and leap to the bleeding edge and make the cut yourself! If you’re not willing to bleed with innovation, then you’re never going to lead in your profession.
